### Palermo

Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is said to be the place where the legendary mafia began its sad days. Etna is the largest active volcano in all of Europe. Very often it explodes and sends to the cloud an extreme amount of ash and fluffy clouds that float over the whole island. To get to the top, you have to walk 3323 meters. If you can do it, expect an experience you will never forget.

## Sights and food in Sicily

If you indulge in the legends of the ancient Mediterranean, you will be absolutely enchanted by a visit to Sicily. For example, you can visit Syracuse, a perfectly preserved ancient city that has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, or hundreds of other monuments that are an imaginary mirror of history.
