Through the Corsican mountains winds the famous 160 km route called Sentier de Grande Randonnée de la Corse, which in short is called GR 20. It is a very difficult two-week crossing. Normal pilgrims can hardly conquer it. There is no mountain hut network.

Monte Belt

With its 2 706 m.n.m. it is the highest peak of Corsica. It is located in the Haute-Course department between the Asco and Golo valleys. When weather is nice, it offers a view of Rome and Marseille.

Although Corsica lies in the Mediterranean, the climate and temperatures vary considerably. The average temperature here is 16 degrees Celsius, in the mountains can reach a freezing point. In summer, temperatures can fall below freezing in the mountain area and in the afternoon rise above 30 degrees Celsius.

You can visit the most beautiful lake in Corsica Capitello, which is popular with tourists thanks to easy access from the nearby road.

In spring you can go down the river, in summer, the mountain ridges may suffer from lack of water. If you go on a full day hike, always bring enough water with you. You can refresh yourself at many waterfalls, pools, rivers and streams. Go to Corsica by air. You can get flights at great prices.
